Change Visibility
Through this method, the notifications are not actually disabled but are prevented to appear frequently. It is possible to just changing the visibility of action, through the settings in Action Center. However, the process will be running in the background. To adapt this method, execute the following steps.
- In the lower right corner of the screen, on the Taskbar, click the Flag icon
- Click to choose Open Action Center
- In the subsequently Action Center window, click Change User Account Control Settings
- In the User Account Control Settings window, drag the toggle down to Never Notify
- Click OK to save your changes, and Exit Action Center
Disable Selective
For many users, not all the notifications might be irritating. They may consider some of them as useful and important get alert with. In such a case, these users are informed with a method of their desire. Through the procedure outlined below, you can easily dump the selective notifications.
- In the lower right corner of the screen, on the Taskbar, click the Flag icon
- Click to choose Open Action Center
- In the subsequently appearing Action Center window, click Change Action Center Settings
- In the Action Center Settings window, uncheck the items that you wish not to appear again
- Click OK to save your changes, and Exit Action Center
Complete Disable
It may be seen in very rare cases, but still such users exist that do not want to be disturbed with any kind of notification, whether it is important or not. This is the prescribed solution for similar users, in which, they will be able to complete ban the notifications in their Operating System. Perform the following:
- Go to Run box, type ‘regedit’ and hit Enter to open Windows Registry Editor
- Confirm with Yes, if prompted with a UAC message
- In the left panel of Registry Editor, expand through HKEY_CURRENT_USER to reach:
- Software\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting
- In the right panel of Registry Editor, locate and double click Disabled to Modify
- If the entry does not exist, right click to create a New DWORD Value, and name it Disabled
- Change its Value data from 0 to 1 (to activate it)
- Click OK to save changes and Exit Registry Editor
It is to be noted that all these procedures carried out in the above stages, are reversible. If in case, you want these notifications to appear again, change the preferences from the same areas.
